MNSC Year 9 Showcase Evening
7 pm Thursday May, 24th 2018 At Mirboo North Secondary College Auditorium
Year 9 students have been involved in Showcase which is a new enquiry based learning experience that allows students to explore a project related to their passion and interests. Students have been working in groups or independently to develop their ideas through a planning, design, production and evaluation process. Through this process, students are developing a range of skills and gaining knowledge in their chosen area of interest. The project culminates in our ‘Showcase Evening’ where students will present their work. We hope that families and friends will attend the evening to support this exciting initiative and to celebrate the enquiry based student learning. The evening is an important aspect of the project, providing an opportunity for presentation and community feedback which is an integral aspect of the reflection and evaluation process for students.
Thank you in anticipation for your support and we look forward to seeing you at the Showcase! Showcase Team: Rebecca Woodall, Clayton Cupples and Wendy King
MNSC Secondary Awareness day for 2018 is on Thursday, May 3rd. On this day grade 5 and 6 students from various primary schools visit our College to experience secondary school and prepare for transition in to the next stage of their schooling. On this day, Year 7 AND 8 STUDENTS are NOT REQUIRED AT SCHOOL. This is to allow us to be able to run programs and classes for the incoming cohort on this day.
The school remains open and normal classes will continue to run for senior students on this day. If you have any queries about this day please contact Kay Chandler on 5667 9000.
Interviews will be held on Wednesday March 28th from 5 - 8pm, and Thursday March 29th from 9 - 12.
Student/Parent/Teacher Interviews provide an opportunity for students, parents and carers to discuss each student's progress and reflect on the recently published student learning habit reports.
Bookings can be made by parents/carers in the Conferences module, in the Community section of the college's compass site.
If you have difficulties accessing compass or making a booking, please call the college on 5667 9000
